My sister spoke with you in Raleigh about our grandfather, Ernest B. McKissick. In 1977 he and our grandmother were interviewed by Dr. Louis Silveri from UNC-Asheville’s Southern Highlands Research Center. I’m sure that a copy of the interview is in their archives and it contains information about my grandfather’s early years in Asheville. Our mother, Jean M. McNeill also wrote several articles for 1987 edition of Old Buncombe County Heritage- vol.2. They can be found on pages 8, 253, 254, and 362.
